House Ce'nessil is one of the noble houses of Galasthin. It is led by the ever-terrifying Ircil Ce'nessil, whose fearsome reputation on the battlefield is only worsened by the rumours of their talent as an assassin. The house's Scion, Vahal Ce'nessil, is no less terrifying, and matches her parent's cool, calculating manner with her own deadly precision.
Bound to necessary evils, House Ce'nessil is the direct opposite of House Al'turia. They are the prosecutors, the assassins, and those that watch over the black markets. They are the necromancers, the spies, the covert operatives and saboteurs. They steep themselves in dark arts well enough that the blackness of corruption clings to them, and yet even through blackest night, their purposeful light guides them forward. Though their inventions often border on what is legal, and their members prefer to remain disinterested in the general populace, the House has enough of a reputation that they are recognised as one of the most powerful.
To ensure that none of their House go too far, House Ce'nessil has long maintained a series of formal contracts and understandings with the other Houses, and with external maintainers of balance. These assessors are powerful individuals who hold many of the secretive House's knowledge, and who may intercede if what is being done no longer falls within the bounds of necessary.
House Ce'nessil were the ones to stoke the flames of the Purge into the genocide it became, citing concerns with the ongoing drow threat. Though some of the other noble houses that were involved with the Purge have since apologised for the way the conflict spiralled out of control, House Ce'nessil have stood by their decisions without regret.
