Written into the legends of salt-swept sailors as the home of dragons and dwarves, Iskaldhal lies towards the north of Istralar. Its mountainous reaches and dense forests should be visible from a fair distance, but the continent is usually shrouded in the dark clouds of wintry storms that prevent sailors from seeing too far in. It is, by far, the continent with the most rough terrain, and those stranded on its outer reaches and islands will often perish on the icy tundra before being able to find food or clean water. Many of its inhabitants choose to live either in forests or caves, though some have built expansive cities stretching along areas of coast or across the sides of mountains. Whether they live in wilderness or civilisation, though, the weather is always a constant danger - earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, blizzards and other dangerous weather conditions make Iskaldhal a terrifying place to live, and its inhabitants even more dangerous for having endured it for so long.
