Dowgan was born into a tribe of kor living in the rocky cliffs of Zendikar. From a young age, he showed a remarkable talent for climbing and agility, easily navigating the treacherous terrain of his homeland. He also developed an interest in firearms, fascinated by the way they could take down targets from a distance.
As he grew older, Dowgan realized that his skills could be put to use as a mercenary. He joined a group called The Gritty Storm, known for their willingness to do dirty work that other mercenaries wouldn't touch. Using his climbing abilities and knowledge of the hedron designs, Dowgan quickly became one of the group's most skilled assassins.
However, as he carried out more and more missions for The Gritty Storm, Dowgan began to question the morality of their work. He saw firsthand the damage that the group was causing, and started to wonder whether his actions were truly just. Despite his doubts, he continued to carry out missions, fearing what would happen if he tried to leave the group.
One day, Dowgan was given a mission that made him realize he couldn't continue working for The Gritty Storm any longer. The mission tasked him with assassinating Princess Seraphina of Escela, a young and innocent princess who had done nothing wrong. Dowgan knew that the assassination would throw the nation into turmoil and cause untold suffering, and he couldn't bear the thought of being responsible for such a heinous act.
Dowgan refused to carry out the mission and was forced to flee from The Gritty Storm, fearing for his life. He realized that he needed to take action to create a better world, and began to plan his takeover of the city of Stratus to create his own nation. He convinced some of his comrades from The Gritty Storm to join him in his mission, and they began to plan their takeover.
