Jean-Christophe Beaulieu

Dowager Prince Jean-Christophe Cyril Beaulieu- Labelle

Jean-Christophe Beaulieu (née Labelle) is a Dowager Prince of Skayton. He is the husband of Clara Beaulieu and the father of Marie Beaulieu by her. Jean-Christophe was very much a ladies' man before his marriage, but has scorned others' advancements since Clara became pregnant with Marie.

Personality

It's a miracle he doesn't have more children...
— A gossiping Lord

Jean-Christophe is very much a romancer of all women. He has also been known to have relationships with men on occasion, although he seems to prefer the company of women. Jean-Christophe only has two illegitimate children he claims as his own — Martin Labelle and Emma Labelle — but it is speculated if he has more simply because of the rate at which he took lovers. He has an adulterous streak, and has been unfaithful to both serious partners he has had — Matilda Plamondon and Clara Beaulieu.

Despite his shortcomings in the commitment aspect, Jean-Christophe is charming and kind. He has also proven himself to be a loving father and a brave protector of those he cares about. He can be stubborn and head-strong when he wants to be. Jean-Christophe is willing to put himself to public shame in order to make things right after he realizes he has wronged someone. He is extremely dense when it comes to the hurt of others though.

Appearance

Jean-Christophe is a relatively tall young man with light skin. He has straight, brown hair which he keeps cut short. His eyes are blue. He has a defined jawline. Jean-Christophe has a well-toned physique.

History

He was such a good boy when he was young. I know that those eyes still hold the light that they did when he was in a child... The accident might've driven him to more lecherous pleasures, but he's still a good man, deep down.
— Jean-Christophe's mother, Maylis

Jean-Christophe was born the second son of a Duke of Skayton — Mathéo Labelle — and his common-born wife — Maylis Labelle — in the year 1294 AF. He grew up a well-behaved young boy, but he began to take lovers from his sixteenth birthday onward. These lovers were many in number, and the relationships often overlapped. His mother claims that he only began to take lovers because of the accident which took the life of his older brother — Roger Labelle — but Jean-Christophe has never publicly confirmed nor denied this.

History

Jean-Christophe and Clara married a few short months after their courtship began partially due to an arranged marriage deal made between their mothers. Jean-Christophe initially had many affairs after their marriage, but realized that he truly did love Clara and that he was hurting her by being unfaithful soon after she became pregnant with Marie. Jean-Christophe then resolved to change his adulterous ways, and change them he did.

History

Jean-Christophe has a poor relationship with Estelle after a whirlwind romantic affair with her. He had lied about his then-active engagement to Matilda in order to bed Estelle, and it didn't end well for him.

History

Jean-Christophe and Matilda were planning on marriage after their 2-year relationship, but Matilda broke off their engagement after learning of Jean-Christophe's multiple affairs throughout their courtship. Matilda believed that she could no longer trust him, and thought that he would not be a solid father to their daughter nor a good example for her.

Matilda supports Jean-Christophe's marriage to Clara Beaulieu, but only after confirming that Clara knew of his streak of unfaithfulness. Matilda and Jean-Christophe maintain a tolerable relationship, and Matilda and Clara could now be considered friends.
