Primals
The Primals were one of the first species to set foot in Ivaenlis, second only to the Starborn. Despite being the predominant species during the Age of Elements, the species entered a steep decline during the Age of Fables, eventually becoming extinct following the Severance.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Most elementals have a humanoid shape, despite not being creatures of flesh. They might have limbs created from flames, chests made of moving rocks or hair created from streams of water. These manifestations can cover most of a Primal's body, or only specific parts of it.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Primals lived according to a strict caste system which, first and foremost, separated primals from other species. Within the Primal ranks, two castes coexisted: the Archons and the Genies. While most members of Primal society belonged to the later category, the leaders and figureheads belonged to the Archons.
Average Intelligence
The elementals were highly intelligent, capable of creating art, magical works of wonder and sophisticated pieces of craftsmanship and engineering.
Civilization and Culture
Major Language Groups and Dialects
The dead dialect, Primal, is believed to have been the official language spoken in Primal Society. Primals could also speak other languages, such as Common, but reserved this use solely when dealing with other species.
Common Myths and Legends
The research document known as Primal Failure describes the legend of Tesla, the Fury, an heroine within the ranks of Primal society.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Most species had an antagonistic view of Primals. The Primals themselves treated other races with a certain indifference, preferring to live in isolation.
