The Dwarven Archive
A large, circular stone building, headquarters to the Tome Keepers and a respectable institution of learning and scholarship, located within Vog Thurum's wealthiest district.
Purpose / Function
The Archive serves both as a library as well as a place of academic learning. While the tomes stored within can be freely accessed by outsiders, the classes require the payment of a hefty tuition fee.
Architecture
The building has a cylindrical shape and a grey dome-like ceiling, atop of which rests a white, marble sculpture of an open book. Several doric columns surround the circular wall and the main entrance is comprised of two large walnut doors. A small, goblet-like fountain stands in the middle of the garden-like open space that lies in front of the library.
Within the building proper, a large circular stand surrounds the center part of the space. Hundreds of bookcases populate this stand, while a few dozen others stand in the center of the room, where various reading spaces are located. Beneath the stand lie several classrooms, their doors hard to spot for the untrained eye. The reception itself also lies below the elevated stand, but an iron grid separates the space from the inner chamber, rather a stone wall.
The dome has been decorated with a lush and detailed painting of Aetheos. The picture sheds dim blue light from the portions of thr gravure that represent bodies of water, the sole source of illumination other than that granted by lightstones.
