Ivaenni
The continent of Ivaenni is a bountyful land, peaceful and prosperous, generally. At least if you don't look below the surface.
Where people lived in peace, and nothing was wrong with the world. During these times, the eras had no consistent names over the continent, instead the name of rulers and dynasties among other things were used. This era was named after it already ended, as people during the Age of Misfortune reminisced about peace.
A time where many rulers died, one after the other. There were battles, usurpations, assassinations, etc. Dynasties fell before they had a chance to form. Also called The Kingsfalls Era.
A time of sorcery, where a powerful wizard took the throne, finally ending the Age of Misfortune with their long reign. It was as if the wizard was immortal. Also called The Delusion Era, as people thought finally, they had a king that would last, while they also were very worried. Or so it is said the reason is. It's mainly because of the paranoia the wizard king developed as they aged.
After the death of the wizard king, the domain fell to ruin once more, this time with magic users fighting for power.
Finally, the battles simply fizzled out. Nobody knows exactly why, but one day everything just... ended. People say that the dieties intervened, that a great evil was slain, etc.

The calendar of Harptos came to an Oracle a long, long time ago. According to them, it was a perfect way for a nation without a way to keep time, to count the passing of the sun and the moon. It's not a fully accurate calendar, but after the Oracle and their followers' campaigning, the calendar of Harptos was adopted by more and more people, eventually being in use on the entire continent.Calendar
There are thirty days in a month. On the plane the calendar came from, it may have represented one cycle of the moon, but on Ivaenni a month should logically be at least a few more days.
