King/Queen

Duties

Within their lands, the Monarch is the peak of authority. None beneath them can speak against their will nor command them to act except for the Empress. They will inevitably hold a higher loyalty to their kingdoms and peoples than to the Empire. However, they are bound to the Empire by its strength, stability, and wealth.

Responsibilities

The Monarchs must work for the benefit of both their kingdoms and the Empire.

Benefits

Total control over how their kingdom is managed as long as it does not oppose specific Imperial orders. They can change their type of government. Their diplomatic positions, allies, and enemies. They can order the construction of keeps and cities. They are only limited by the capacity of their Kingdoms. They are also granted explicit protection under the Empire in the form of the Crown Legion. Extremely well-trained Imperial paladins there is no force or order that can match them in single combat. Most Monarchs are assigned 10-40 Legionnaires to reinforce their own retinues.
