Jakeopod

Jakeopods are large creatures with massive wings and red scales. On the back of their neck are feathers which can be black or blue. Their faces resemble flowers have large fleshy petals opening to reveal their mouth. Jakeopods are in a symbiotic relationship with a creature known has a back crab.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The creatures have six limbs, four arms and two legs, the second pair is located below their chest and resembles cat like paws, the claws on these limbs are the sharpest things on the planet.

Biological Traits

Jakeopods have fireproof scales, allowing them to swim in lava. Jakeopods an extremely venomous bite, that can kill non-Jakeopod species in days. They have a special organ that allows them to create portals, they have 3 hearts, 3 brains, 3 lungs, and 12 kidneys. When a Jakeopod dies, every scale on it's body falls off at the same time, what's left of a Jakeopod that's dead is a skinless corpse on a pile of scales. Jakeopods have blue blood.

Genetics and Reproduction

Jakeopods do not need a mate to reproduce, but would prefer to have one. Jakeopods lay 3 large opague neon green tubes that are each connected by an umbilical cord like structure. Sometimes the male or female will die while laying these eggs.

Growth Rate & Stages

The creature hatches out of it's egg as a larva then they go into a cocoon and turn into a wingless variant of a normal Jakeopod, eventually their wings grow and they become fully mature. This process takes ten years in all.

Ecology and Habitats

Jakeopods prefer areas that are cool with pools of dangerous substances, acid, magma etc. The also like areas close to bodies of water, beaches, lakes etc.

Dietary Needs and Habits

The creatures are omnivores however prefer meet, they prefer to fish with their second pair of arms. They kept thier food in large holes that were refrigerated by ice magic. Jakeopods prefer raw meat over cooked and the best source of nutrition for one is hearts, eyes and muscle tissue. .
