Qualifications
It is said that the Harbinger will be a great raider and leader who has the support of the Stagcoran Gods, the Stagcoran clans, and has strength that is unrivaled on Jeharr.
Appointment
Many Stagcorans may call someone Harbinger, but until they are elected Stridjarl, they are unable to lead the disparate clans. Tradition dictates that the Harbinger will go to Vikholm and await the arrival of the jarls and their emissaries, who will vote on their appointment. Once the Harbinger has been elected Stridjarl, ruin will come to rest of the world.
History
Around campfires and on longships in Stagcora it is said that there would one day come a reckoning for the rest of the world, Nyrjor. Nyrjor would begin when the Harbinger returned from conquests abroad to Stagcora, and took their rightful place as Stridjarl of the clans and united them in the ruination of the Sedentary World. The Harbinger will be one who is blessed by the Vanquisher Gods, Axius, Val'Miis, and Ulrok and whose strength outclasses that of powers even beyond Jeharr. There have been prospective Harbingers over the course of history, but none have ever secured the support of enough of the clans to be elected Stridjarl.
Cultural Significance
The Harbinger is more of a myth than a truly achievable title. The Harbinger is the primary figure of stories told around Stagcoran campfires in a nostalgic tone, remembering times of legends and unfettered raiding. The Harbinger is said to be a Mortal capable of impossible feats such as besting giants in single combat, raiding other worlds, and even fighting their way into and out of hell itself.
