Megandra

The terrain of Megandra slopes from highland cliffs to swamplands with forests in the north. It remains largely unexplored by civilized races. There had been a migration south due to the gold Rush in Borea. Mines have dried up and the regions of Borea have become too protected by their dwarven denizens to make a claim. Human settlers have gathered in regions near the Aorta river, some panning for gold others finding a different way as the resource dwindled. Few have ventured Eastward into the the surrounding forests and swamplands. This is largely due to the presence of tribal goblin peoples fiercely protecting these lands. While goblins are referred to as the natives they are not actually native to Megandra or even Jennara.   Shortly after the great dimensional migration of Leathem The Unseelie court from beyond the veil sent a mass migration of goblins to the savage swamp and forestland of Megandra. The reason that the higher faerie races sent them is largely unknown. It was first suspected that the realm of Megandra was where the Unseelie sent their undesirables liken to a prison colony. If that was the case why was it then the exclusively the lower bred faerie races that were sent?   Certainly civilized faerie races would have been sent to supervise the "prisoners" from spreading out and raiding as goblins are want to do. Raiding runs are made to supplies coming to and from Borea and Portsmouth, but suspiciously less than what one might expect from a raiding culture..
The goblins in this region have been remarkably passive although seeming to always be preparing for and defending their territory from investigation. This has promoted the elves of Leathem to believe there must be something here more resource wise than the barren land they believed it to be and conflict between the high and low immigrants of faerie have broken out. Recently it has been discovered that some of the forests of Megandra give off an aura of extreme magic which may be at the heart of their conflict.
