Leathem
The high elves descended from the Tuatha were the first immigrants of faerie to Jennara. It is an observatory for the corporeal world and the high elves came originally as watchers but over a 2000 years their population has grown. The city of Leathem is built around an inderdimensional gateway to faerieland and is its path to the mortal world. This gateway is high upon a the mountain top of Tarith. Accessing the city is difficult due to the sheer walls. Access is largely granted by Sky Sloops and Roc ferries.
Very few humans dwell here. In a society of ancients they do not belong. Particularly since humans are so new to Jennara.
Mountains serve as the stables of hippogriffs and also the airfare legion that has ever defended the mountain from dwarves invasion. The second greatest store of gold lives beneath these mountains. Also the stones of Tarith that surround the city are monitors to the resources of Jennara.
Elves have taken care that none of non faerie descent should go near them.
Leathem is led by a matriarchy. Queen Cialdress Maren is the third to hold the post. She has been more liberal towards immigration than her predecessors. This has always been met with doubt from the council of seasons.
Demographics
Leathem is mostly high elven. Their are humans in slavery and some servants but it is preferable to have wood elves as servants although the majority of them descended from the mountain and lived in Everska
Government
Government has a matriarch at its head, two patriarch's as lieutenants and a council of ten for its legislation. Laws are ruled by a council of fifty magistrates.
Defences
Leathem is defended by a great Air Force living at the base of the mountain. It is the greatest honor of their military to serve in the hippogriff cavalry. Known as the Cloud lancers. This cavalry frequently grazes on the grass fields of Everska and returns to roost in the aerie.
The city also boasts five powerful wizards at their observation towers able to crystal cast to virtually anywhere in the perimiter.
Industry & Trade
The high elves of Leathem are largely Isolationists the elven city is largely self sufficient. What goods they are not able to grow on the mountain they aquire through the gateway to Arcadia on top of the mountain.
Trade does happen with their neighbor in Everska who have larger farm lands. Also their wealth of gold allows for basic monetary trade however trading agents in Everska are usually used as middlemen.
Infrastructure
Leathem is protected by a cavernous aerie hollowed out from the great mountain Cyus that supports it. Many winged beasts make this aerie their home.
A crowning achievement of the city are its crystal observation towers whereby one may scry anywhere in the outside world.
Assets
The second largest vein of gold is in the under mountain of Cyus beneath the aerie. Dwarves from Borea's D.E.V Department of External Veins are aware of this great resource and have entered into arguments for mining rights being the ones who provide coin for the rest of the realm. Citizens of Leathem though watchers of the world remain isolationists.
A special kind of fungus grows on top of the mount that cannot be found anywhere else. This fungus is known as @Embia
