The King's Crown
Lost in the Dalirn invasion, the Whirlan king's crown is of precious significance to all who trusted in the Whirlan kings and believe that the princess will return.
History
The crown of the king of Whirlan was created in 1014 by a local Metalicitor for the current king, Peter Nistern. From then on it was passed down as a royal heirloom of the Whirlan rulers, gracing the heads of every king who was crowned. The crown was rarely worn for anything other than coronations, weddings, and other official ceremonies, but it was seen as a symbol of the power of the Whirlan rulers.
The last king crowned with this was King Rendorik at his coronation in 2046. Rendorik wore it only a few times during his reign before his death in 2054 during the Assassination of Blood. According to rumors, he was wearing the crown when he died. It was lost immediately after and many people believe the Dalirn either sold or destroyed it. To this day, no one is certain whether it is still intact or not.
(This is not what it looks like, this is a placeholder until I find a better picture)
When House Calleron took over the country in 1119, the king's crown remained in use. The Calleron kings made the only modifications the crown would ever receive: changing the color of the gems from gray to purple. The crown was still only used for special circumstances but it was engraved onto the back of some of Whirlan's currency and everyone in the kingdom knew what it looked like.
Significance
The king's crown was of incredible political significance to the people of Whirlan. It repre-sented the royal family and specifically the king. It appeared on the most common type of Whirlan currency. It was worn at important events. Everyone in the country knew what it looked like and what it meant to the royals.
That's the king's crown. The last king to wear it was Rendorik the Just. We wish it was not lost.
Material & Appearance
The king's crown is a circle of pure gold-plated silver with peaks of metal all around it that are embedded with jewels. The front peak is slightly larger than the others and has a diamond of obsidian and deep amethysts. All of the other peaks are studded with purple, black, and light blue stones. Originally, instead of amethysts, the crown was embedded with gray sapphires to represent House Nistern, but the Callerons changed the jewels.I remember watching the crown lower onto his head... It was like something out of a story. A fair-faced king with determination in his eyes, kneeling as he was crowned, ready to be a better ruler than those who came before him. And I thought, "How lucky I am, to see the beginning of a new era.

Author's Notes
I'm not happy with the images, but I might replace them in the next week or so. I've been working more on my other world, but I thought I could work an item in here easier.
