Overview
The Nassuri are a people of
Fripperland, whose longest lasting influence on the world was the founding of the
Miisub religion. They live as a culture largely within the
Seara desert, although also extend into
the Endless Sands to the south.
Lifestyle
The Nassuri, even in the modern day, have always organized largely by clan ties. The sparsely inhabited nature of their environment has left populations within it mobile and few and far-between, thus making any strong and binding central government among them difficult to hold to. For such a reason, the governance of the region has often been left to a coalition or confederation of the many clans of the region who at time may act in unison. Since the founding of the Miisubite faith, the central leader has been a religious one always, although the piety of the Nassuri and their loyalty to the divine as a collective stretches back even farther than that.
The Nassuri people have a time-honored lifestyle which largely revolves around pastorialism and the raising of livestock. Other livelihoods have frequently involved serving as merchants in trade caravans or as mercenaries, as well as raiding.
The Nasuri are, almost entirely, part of the Miisubite faith. Even in the modern era religiosity among the Nassuri is extremely high. Yet even then there are those who live outside the bounds of their clans' culture, and so practice foreign faiths or are non-practicing altogether. Notably, there remains within the Nassuri a group which still follows the
Kurkite religion.
