Xogeq Nape was an admiral in service to the kingdom of Etha, and in particular to Glerigh Jason as his protegee.

Personal history
Xogeq Nape was born in Promthia. As a child, her home was raided and destroyed by Nivagrans from Kuzaklem. Most of her family was killed and she was taken as a slave.
As a slave she was mostly used to row oared ships used in other raids. When she was fourteen years old, the ships she was with were ambushed by an Ethain fleet. The Nivagrans scattered, leaving as fast as they could. Following the chaos, Xogeq and her fellow slaves staged a mutiny and captured the ship. They were led by a slave named Peuth. He was an experienced sailor. He led them through several raids and attacks on other Nivagran ships, growing their fleet greatly. It was from Peuth, a fellow Promthian, that Xogeq would learn so much about sailing and naval battles.
Unfortunately, a poor judgement led to Peuth, along with many of the crew and their ships, falling to a Nivagran ambush. Recuperating from this loss, the fleet shattered into many smaller ones. Xogeq managed to lead her own contingent, slowly growing in number of men and ships. In a few years' time, she had managed to attract the other fleets into coalescing in one larger one with her at the head. With this greater fleet, she wrecked havoc on Nivagran traders and raiders. This attracted the attention of the Ethains. Glerigh Jason, seeking allies against the internal factions of his kingdom, offered Xogeq pay and station in his service. He promised her the chance to take revenge against the Nivagrans if she would swear loyalty to him. She agreed.
From this point on, Xogeq would fight for the kingdom of Etha. She would show great success and be rapidly promoted. Her work caused the merchants of Etha to show their appreciation to the king for his protection. While she found great joy in slaughtering Nivagrans, she would soon have to move north. The Northern War had started, and the Ethains were forced down from Denk. In order to combat the Ethernians and harass their supply lines, Xogeq was moved to the northern sea. Here, too, she showed success. She caused great stress to Isora Mezezi's efforts. Here, too, she would also meet Sezzlic Denk, a young Ethain noble from Denk. He would serve her as a marine, something he would do with distinction.
By the end of the war, Xogeq's record remained exceedingly impressive. Many in the kingdom were envious of her fame, as they were also with Sezzlic who would also rise to prominence, but the king's favor kept her aloft and alive. Yet, even with the colossal scale of the northern war, her greatest moments were yet to come.
The Second Great Nivagran Host came to Ethanga shortly after the war with the Ethernians. Here, Xogeq would get to lay into the hordes with unrestrained fury. While the Nivagrans were dealt with on land, the fleet that Xogeq led had to again go north in order to stop a northern invasion. Curiously, here she found herself assisted by the Ethernian queen, Isora, in fighting the Nivagran fleet.
Success led her to an Ethain invasion of Kuzaklem, with Sezzlic Denk at the head of its ground forces. Following this, her last great military experience was in Glerigh's Enhostagement. Her patron, king Glerigh, was taken hostage by representatives of regional factions. In tandem with Sezzlic Denk and Pult Denk, the current duke of Denk, she acted to defeat the traitors and restore Glerigh to power.
Following their success, Glerigh was able to effectively impose himself on the entire kingdom for the first time in his reign. Yet his reign would not last much longer. He would pass away 1092, leaving his daughter still in her minority. Before he passed, though, he asked of his proteges favors. For Xogeq, he asked her to take control as regent until his daughter was of age. This she was granted. In exchange, she was granted land and wealth where she would settle down with her, surprisingly Nivagran, husband Vikew Niulun.
