Beha Fooyet
This secret building is known as Beha Fooyet, literally 'safe house' in halfling. Any Night-Bloom Syndicate ranking mamber (Private and above), can use the safehouse and its services. This underground hidden building boasts a range of shops and craftsman, as well as several places with room and board. Syndicate rules are strictly enforced here. Anything that happens here is kept secret from the remainder of the world. Therefore, it is a great place to haggle over deals and recruit thieves or assassins. In fact, the rules are so strictly enforced that many inside the syndicate, especially higher ranking members, consider this the safest and most secure place in the world. Here is about the only place a criminal can be free from worry about capture or worse.
Rarely, a non-member is allowed to stay at Beha Fooyet. This is something of a great honor and anyone staying here is treated as a ranking guild member. They are under the protection and authority of the syndicate. This most frequently occurs with informants or other officials looking to change sides or sell valuable information. Often these individuals join the syndicate shortly after visiting Beha Fooyet anyways.
The location of Beha Fooyet is a closely guarded secret. Many members have only heard of the safehouse in whispers and rumors. Those that have visited know it is in Caligo (or at least have a strong suspicion), but only a few select members actually know the safehouse's entrance(s). There are locations across the country where ranking members can enter Beha Fooyet. However, never is anyone allowed to see where they are going, what city they are in, and even the passage of time is obscured, so visitors have a difficult time remembering how long it took to reach the safehouse.
Despite all this, Beha Fooyet is considered the greatest refuge for anyone in the Night Bloom Syndicate. It's walls mean safety and fortune. For those that aren't in the guild or haven't heard of Beha Fooyet, there are precious few refuges in the world.
Purpose / Function
The purpose of this building is to first and foremost enhance syndicate business. Secondly, it serves as a place for ranking members to hide or escape as needed. Lastly, it is a location where syndicate business can be bartered, bought, earned, or traded for in secret, with almost no chance of it reaching law-abiding ears.
Alterations
It has been said the original Beha Fooyet was small and possibly located in an entirely different city. Over time it has expanded deeper and wider, creating an almost labyrinthine underground building. However, the major meeting rooms and common areas have existed for thousands of years.
Defenses
Many alarms and failsafes guard the entrances and exits of this building. Many are dangerous and deadly, however some are merely designed to tag and track intruders, so they never have the chance to escape alive. Many of these defenses are magical, but plenty of mundane (but deadly) defenses also enhance the magical defenses.
