Anima Radix System

Our home in the vast Milky Way galaxy, Anima Radix is centered upon a single G-type star called Sol, around which eight recognized planets and various other objects including dwarf planets and a variety of man-made structures orbit on a nearly flat disc called the ecliptic. The four innermost planets, Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars are terrestrial planets while the gas giants Jupiter and Saturn lie just outside of the asteroid belt beyond Mars. Further still lie the ice giants Uranus and Neptune followed by the Kuiper belt and various trans-Neptunian ice formations. Several of these objects are classified as dwarf planets, such as the asteroid Ceres and Pluto, which according to historical records was once considered the ninth recognized planet in the system. Pluto's reclassification allegedly caused some degree of uproar at the time, both serious and satirical, but the decision was ultimately due to the fact that while Pluto is large enough to become spherical like its brethren, it lacked the size to affect other bodies in its vicinity like the other eight planets. Interplanetary dust, comets, and centaurs also travel freely between regions. Additionally, several of the objects in the system are orbited by natural satellites referred to as "moons" after the Earth's moon, which has become more commonly referred to as Luna. Lastly, the outer planets are encircled by rings of dust, ice, and other small objects.

Regional Divisions

Based on the level of colonization within the system, there are three concentric regional "rings," which are characterized by smaller populations farther from Sol.
