Orichorn Majoris

Orbiting a large red dwarf star Orichorn Majoris is a Terran-like planet on the outskirts of the system's habitable zone. Most of its surface is covered in ice, sheets of which sit on top of massive plateaus as magma desperately tries to break through the planet's tectonic plates. Orichorn Majoris has never had a single volcanic eruption in all of the Imperial records, this is most likely the reason for its frozen state. A single moon orbits Orichorn Majoris and its yearly and daily shifts are very similar to Holy Terra which may have been why the planet was chosen for colonisation before the Imperium rediscovered it. Though others would say that Orichorn Majoris was settled for its diverse fungal life. The planet's deep ravines between plateaus are a prime breeding ground for fungi as the ravines are wet and very warm due to magma. These fungi are harvested for a variety of purposes in the Imperium and once processed make a great basis for medical chems. The planet also has several hydroponic installations that cultivate these mushrooms under intensive conditions but the most potent and prised are the ones that grow in the ravines. 

Government

Orichorn Majoris has been ruled for several millennia by House Triaria. The title of Planetary Governor is handed down from the first born of House Triaria as they rule in the name of the Imperium. The planet having such a small population maintains no PDF, instead relying on a small well-trained citizen's militia. The many various wings of the Adeptus Terra and Adeptus Mechanicus maintain little to a token presence on the world bar the Adeptus Arbites. Like many worlds in this sector, Orichorn Majoris has an unusually high Arbites presence for its population size.
