the Thornwood

A rough and wild stretch of wilderness in the farthest western portion of Ayleria, the Thornwood was an ancient and sparsely populated region bordered on the south by the Gransdimma River and on the east by the Kallmossa River.
The Thornwood was a notoriously hazardous area, with pockets of dangerous magic, unravelling spells and hostile creatures, especially the region known as the Shatters. 
While it was claimed by the The Aylerian Concord, it was not patrolled or protected by representatives of the Concord.
