Chasing Memories
After a brief discussion over their next course of action, the group decided to raid Laxius' hideout while he was away in the Chasm. After Benkei was able to successfully reverse engineer the teleportation sigil corresponding to the roof tile they'd found at Genji's home, they teleported to his hideout and began searching it for clues.
They discovered an ancient marble slab missing it's top portion along with the contents of an arcanely locked chest and the preserved remains of the fallen Apostles Members. Conradus also discovered Lysander's research notes on the Vanishing Isles. They also took several of Laxius' coded journals which they began deciphering upon their return to Tengoku .
The following day, Conadus made an appointment with Pietdidro to receive his gem tattoo of fire resistance, leaving Genji and Benkei to decipher the journals. They also awoke to discover that Sora had left them a note explaining that she needed time on her own to contemplate recent events. Genji also began behaving oddly, acting rash yet feminine, and speaking in Yokai.
After paying a visit to Abe no Seimei and speaking with Mifune , Benkei learned that Genji's personality was being overwritten by Seito Hakari's previous owner, Sakurayashiki Rinne, a female red oni.
That night Genji shared the information he'd learned from the journals with Conradus and Benkei and worried about his condition, Benkei followed him home. On the way he noticed increased samurai activity in the area around Genji's home, and after Conradus asked Masahige was happening, he learned that Hana, Miki, and Kayako had all gone missing. Genji was taken in for questioning as a person of interest and when asked what he knew, he divulged information on Laxius to the samurai. After scrying on Kayako, Benkei learned that she, Hana, and Miki were all still alive for the time being, under the control of an armored female. Deciding to act sooner rather than later, the group took a guess and teleported to the Chasm along with Michio the following morning.
