Mugen the Death Report
General Summary
While Mifune, Tsukuhana, Ayaka, Rei, Pietdidro, Mumei, Azekura, Benio, and Suzuha drew the attention of the Disciples and Asuramaru away, the strike force was teleported into Tengoku and made their way to the Palace to confront Mugen.
The battle began with Banshou and Nozomi joining the fray, though they were quickly dispatched. However, Vuzath fell and his soul was claimed by Sutoku Tenno. The group was aided by the sudden arrival of Conradus and Bito.
Mugen called on Asuramaru to sunder the tower they were battling on, bringing the combat to the ground where he was forced into his Purgatory Flame Transformation. After another brutal combat and several close calls, Yuuna primed the Master Seal and Benkei successfully sealed Mugen away with Bito's aid. The victory was short lived, as Raishin succumbed to some sort of seed Mugen had planted within him to transform him into a pseudo-host body for himself and the group killed him at his behest. The Jigoku Tayu who had apparently also been present retrieved Nozomi's corpse and departed with it.
After retrieving Seito Hakari and Tao-Ren from the rubble, the group returned to the main gate where the battle had also come to an end. Alongside Raishin and Vuzath, Azekura and Nozomi's sister Saki had also perished.
Tao-Ren announced her intent to follow in Saiha's footsteps and asked all present to lend her their strength. Upon returning to Abe no Seimei, celebration was had and Suzuha, Tsukuhana, and Kenzo returned to their homes (Suzuha mentioning that she expected Genji to retrieve Mushasi's notes for her so she could destroy them).
With that, the long road to recovery began.
