Ischyrós
A young merchant from the East, Ischyros is the eldest of his siblings, and at 17 is the first to set off.
He is cultured, having grown up in a successful merchant house. He enjoys women, drinking, and gambling, though he is not reckless.
He is perhaps "shallow" and not bound by many ethical considerations. While he does fear the gods, he does not believe they are often present. He is not pious, but he is a believer and treats his deity Melqart with appropriate deference.
He wishes to maintain the life to which he has become accustomed. He has come to Kadmeia aboard the Elat, and is looking to establish trade of purple cloth between Ammayat and Rabdos. He knows it is risky, but perhaps he can establish himself and find protectors among the wealthy of Ormos and Rabdos. In a local brothel, he encountered Lenora, and through her, came to know of Spyridon, who, he hoped, would become a valued client. But Spyridon had gotten himself lost, and Ischyros went off with Lenora to look for him, a pursuit that took him into our tale...
Ischyros is a young, rather slight man without facial hair. In his homeland, he goes by Takif.
