Katares, Goddess of Curses
Katares was once a beloved goddess of giving, known for her generosity and her ability to create all manner of wondrous gifts. She crafted delicious foods and healing medicines, and she created animals of all kinds, each one more beautiful and fascinating than the last. She also created jewels and other treasures, which she bestowed upon those who showed kindness and compassion to others.
Malak, God Of Corruption, the fallen god of corruption, began to twist the recipients of her gifts, turning them against one another and making them hoard and fight for what they had received. Katares was outraged by Malak, God Of Corruption corruption and sought to put a stop to his evil schemes.
She ended up captured and subjected to a corruption that twisted and poisoned her mind, turning her against all those who had ever received her gifts. Her mind was filled with dark and malevolent thoughts, and she became obsessed with cursing those who had once been the recipients of her gifts.
Katares now takes great pleasure in cursing those who have received her gifts, using dark magic to spread vile and evil pain to all those she desires. She has gifted those who were scorned by her gifts with the power to spread these curses, creating a network of dark magic that stretches across the land.
There are still those who worship Katares as a goddess of curses. They seek to gain her favor by spreading pain and suffering to those around them, hoping to curry her favor and gain access to her dark powers.
Marina, Goddess Of Justice created and gifted magic of her own to the life across Kadwin in hopes to combat Katares and her dark magic. Eventually Katares was captured and sealed by her husband Portes, God of Doors.
