"Allughat Almuqadasa" The Faithful's Language

The Faithful have always been a deeply religious people.  Their culture is steeped in ceremony and ritual.'   Their language is a reflection of their religious nature, as well as the desert that cares for them and makes them strong.
  • The Sun rises in the East and sets in the West, so they write their sentences starting on the right-hand side of the parchment and going from right to left.
  • There are twenty-eight days in a lunar cycle, and, as such, there are twenty-eight consonants in The Faithful's alphabet.
  • There are thirteen lunar cycles in a solar year, so there are thirteen vowels in The Faithful's alphabet.
  • Each letter in their writing has influence and an impact on the other letters, so they write in a cursive style, so letters are actually touching one another, to reflect this concept.
  • No one letter is more important than another letter in their writing, so their language has no concept of capital letters.
  • There are so many speakers of this language that dialects are naturally developing; at the current point in time, there are eleven of them.
  • This language is so unique and tied into The Faithful's cultural identity that there are many concepts and ideas that cannot be properly translated into any other language.
  • This language can be communicated either orally or in written form, but the oral form is the more preferred medium because it encourages its speakers to gather together and communicate with one another on a personal level.
  • Because their religion is a living, growing, changing entity, their language reflects this by being a changing and dynamic language, with rules and syntax that change, as well.
The Faithful are proud of their language; they see it as adaptable, divinely-inspired, practical, and respectful.
