Abyssal Evil

Untold eons ago, an incredibly ancient and malevolent entity was imprisoned inside a dead pulsar in a remote corner of the galaxy. There it stayed and plotted its escape and revenge for what felt like an eternity. Its captors were assured it could not draw energy from the pulsar, yet it found a way to do so. It could only draw microscopic amounts, but it had all the time in the world. After thousands of years, it built up enough power to open up a portal to a different part of the galaxy. It escaped its eternal exile. However, it transported itself to the bottom of a planet's ocean, where sunlight never reaches. It swam toward the first thing it saw, a hypnotic light floating in the water. Suddenly, it was swallowed by something. It was in no danger of being harmed, so it took possession of the thing that swallowed it, a huge humpback anglerfish. It swam around in its new body, assessing its new environment. After getting acclimated, it hatched a new plan. It started infusing its dark and evil spirit into humanoid corpses it found lying on the ocean floor. These corpses would be reanimated. They would then get up and walk out of the ocean, sometimes taking months or years to do so. These corpses would build ships, capture prisoners, tie them up, put weights on them, and drop them in the ocean, to sink down to a predetermined location, where I would reanimate their corpses, and they would get up, walk out of the ocean, and continue this cycle.
I plan to take possession of every humanoid on this planet. Then, I will instruct them to develop space travel so I can get off this world. I burn to exact revenge on those who imprisoned me.
