The elves of Rodinia, like all elves, are much longer0lived than most other humanoids. As a result, they are more patient than most other humanoids, and much more prone to engage in long, seemingly endless debate than taking rash action. Their lifespans are longer than any other humanoid in Rodinia. As such, they really feel divorced and separate from other humanoid races. Over the eons, their society has grown to reflect this. They are a very insular people, eschewing as much outside contact as possible, yet not outright forbidding it. At the very center of the elves' territory lies The Pillar of Angweh. This structure is a symbol of everything the elves stand for; beauty, introversion, nature, peace, quiet, and stateliness. It is constructed of a combination of bamboo and keratin, organic and flexible, able to bend in the wind and absorb vibrations coming from the ground.
At one hundred stories tall, it has enough space for thousands of elves to sit, meditate, and reflect on their place in the universe. No one in meditation is every disturbed, ever. Some meditate for a very long time.
At the very top of the Pillar is an observation deck. From here, the Elves of Long Sight can see hundreds of miles away, all the way to the edges of their territory. This sect keeps a watchful eye on their land's borders and reports any incursion or intrusion, whether accidental or not. They do not respond violently to intrusion, but they are very keen to monitor all interactions with other species.
This tower is a symbol of the elves' desire to keep to themselves, and to watch the borders of their territory. They are not xenophobic, and they do care about the other species and what happens to them, but they feel out of sync with the other societies around them because they are inherently different, physically and spiritually.
The Pillar of Angweh is a refuge for the elves' against the rest of the world and the short-lived peoples within it.
