The Galleria

Purpose / Function

The Galleria is Malgia’s first and largest upscale festhall at the forefront of premium adult-themed leisure activities and entertainment in the nation. It is advertised as “a place where vice and pleasure, city and nature collide,” and claims to offer “a getaway from the predictability of life.”

The Galleria is run and operated in such a way that technically complies with the Sultanah’s new laws and policies regarding the provisions of free services to the people of the city. However, if you asked residents of Ilmater’s Ward, they would tell you that what this venue offers for free is the bare minimum. More “curated” or “personalized” experiences come with a price. It has quickly become a novel attraction for many nobles from Orange Bounty, wealthy students from the Institute for the Development of Scientific Magic and Engineering, as well as well-to-do visitors, merchants, and tourists.

Architecture

Located at the center of the soothing district, the Galleria’s stone-like appearance makes it a natural point of gravity for public life in Kachmorah. The festhall is located between the Kachmorah Mariposa Lake Park and ubiquitous buildings in the city: an intersection between nature and the urban environment. The festhall has a textured mosaic stone facade that evokes nature of the neighboring park. Appearing as a sculpted stone emerging from the ground, the festhall is a visual anchor in the city.

The public route has a multifaceted glass façade that contrasts with the opacity of the stone. Through the glass, gambing and pleasure activities inside are revealed to the city’s passers-by, while visitors in the interior acquire new vantage points to experience Kachmorah. Formed with a sequence of cascading terraces, the public loop offers spaces for exhibitions and performances.
