Chief/Chieftess

Most tribes on Kairothia have a chief or chieftess at the helm. In some tribes, this chief/chieftess is democratically elected, and in some the title is passed down. Some tribes are patriarchal, some are matriarchal, and some have no rules rules regarding gender on who can be chief or chieftess.
The exact role of the chief varies by tribe, but most serve as both the judicial and governing body of their tribe. Some are merely figureheads, some are well-versed in the activities of their tribe, and are great leaders.
All Chiefs/Chieftesses are subservient to the leadership of the Holy City of the One, and are required to use the laws and customs as outlined by the Circle of The One, although there is some leeway in how these laws are interpreted.

Qualifications

Varies by tribe, but they are expected to understand how everything works regarding how economic value is created in their tribe, and to understand the faith and laws defined by the Faith of The One.

Responsibilities

Varies by tribe, but all are spokespersons for their tribe on visits to the Holy City of the One. They are meant to be the main judicial and governing body of their tribe, and are supposed to understand the inner-workings of the economy of their tribe.
