Circle of The One

The circle of the one is an order established by the original tribes to carry out the will of "The One". Most tribes of people on Kairothia swear fealty to the will of The The One, and therefore partake in the traditions of the circle.

Structure

Listener

The individual who is assigned to communicate with The One. Listeners have a deep connection with The One, and therefore tend to have the greatest faith out of any Kairothian. The job of the Listener is to live in seclusion from the world, and listen to The One. It is a role given to those who have been hand picked by The One. A Listener rarely eats, drinks, or moves, in spends most of his/her time in a state of meditation away from the distractions of the world. When the The One has a message for the world, he will tell the
Listener, so that the Listener will write it on a piece of paper, for a caretaker to collect. Every decision a Listener makes is a result of communication with The One. Before a Listener dies, it is their job to select the next Listener. The Listener will often leave their chambers and speak directly to the caretakers. In even rarer situations, the Listener  may leave the Temple with the accompaniment of the Caretakers and some Guards. This is usually done during the process of selecting the next Listener, new guards, or new caretakers. If the Listener dies before a new Listener has been selected, it is VERY BAD.

Caretaker

The Listener has 10 caretakers, and each one must be hand-picked by the Listener . Despite the name, a caretaker is not simply a servant of the Listener. While their main duty is to ensure that the Listener gets food and water, it is also their duty to relay messages from the Listener to wherever they are needed. They are also required to have at least a small level of combat training, in case they need to defend the Listener against external threats. This is the part of the organization that is known as "The Circle". Sometimes, it is there job to interpret messages given to them by the Listener.

Guard

The first line of defense against external threats. Must be hand-picked by the Listener. Must have high physical fitness, and a lot of faith in the One .

Messenger

Hand-picked by the Listener to relay messages from the Listener to the tribes. Must have high physical fitness and faith in The One.

Culture

The Circle of the One is the primary religious group that also serves as the leadership of Kairothia. The Circle of the One, along with most of the rest of the world believe in an all powerful god known as "The One", who they believe to be the creator of everything. The individual who communicates with "The One" is "The Listener", who lives in constant prayer with the One.
Outside of the Circle, the Circle is greatly respected by those who worship the One. Once every year, an ambassador of from each affiliated tribe is sent to the Listeners Temple, where they offer gifts to "The One". Any urgent affairs may be given by the ambassadors to the caretaker, who will tell the Listener. The Listener is the central authority figure of the Kairothian tribes, and has the authority to take action and give orders to the chiefs of each tribe by word of the ambassadors.

Public Agenda

Unite all of the people as of the world as one under one body, and fulfill the prophecy to restore the connection between the One and his people.
The unexpected arrival of Humans was a great surprise to the people of Kairothia III, and The One has made it clear to the Listener that Humans have a role to play in their future.

There are various temples throughout the land, which are places where individuals can pray to The One.

History

After some time, the One selected Ptera. Ptera was the first Listener. Communicating with Ptera directly, the One told him to leave everything behind, and start a new family. In a grand display of faith, he obeyed. His descendants eventually established a foothold in the area known as the Holy Plain, creating the Holy City City. After the Holy City, the One selected Ktarn to be Listener. From then on, only Ktarn would receive communication. After that, The One said that the next Listener will be selected when the time was right. Since the Holy City had been established, and the Listener was now in communication with the One, it became the primary mission to reunite the rest of the world and fulfill the prophecy. The other tribes joined in the Faith of The One after missionaries from the Holy City of the One converted them.
As of now, every known tribe has been converted the Faith of The One, but the prophecy does not seem to have been fulfilled. Perhaps there is more to it than expected?

Demography and Population

The mountains, great plain and its city are owned by the circle of the one. The majority of the population resides within the city.

Military

The Guards serve as the first line of defense for the Listener  against external threats. Outside of the Holy Temple of the One there is also a separate military/law enforcement system that isn't directly controlled by the circle, but is still loyal to its will.

Foreign Relations

Communication with other tribes is carried out by Messengers from the Circle, and Ambassadors of each affiliated Tribe. Each affiliated tribe (including the Saiannor tribe) receives laws and orders from this organization.

Mythology & Lore

It is believed by this religion that there exists an all powerful being known as "The One", who was the creator of all things, all laws of reality, and all creatures upon Kairothia, including the Kairothian people. Originally, the Kairothian's lived upon Kairothia with the One, until they sinned. As punishment for their sin, their lifespan was limited, and their ability to directly communicate with The One at will was severed, and the people spread across the world. The One promised that one day, direct communication would be freely allowed, but only after all the people of the world were peacefully united together as one.

• Worship is done primarily through song
• Communication with The One through prayer can be done at any of the temples. Anyone can pray to The One, but only Listener will hear wha Staff of the One has to say.

Priesthood

The first Listener was one of the founders of the religion as it exists now. Every Listener after the first one was hand-picked by the previous Listener , and takes over for the previous when the Listener dies. The Listener  is the head of the society, and operates according to the will of the One.

Political Influence & Intrigue

The Listener is the primary authority of the society. However, the Listener can only act in accordance to the will of the One .

• Each separate tribe is controlled by their Chief/Chieftess who is free to interpret the laws as they see fit, however they swear obedience to the will of the One, and therefore must obey the Listener, if he/she tells them that they are doing something wrong.
