Fox Clock

The clock stands in the centre of the main square in Castilion Town. It was created by Sarona.

Appearance

It takes the form of a large fox, about ten times larger than life. It has a broad smile and the corner of its tongue pokes out on one side. A cupola stands above it with snake-like dragons twirling around it.

How to tell the time

An arch of small circular holes in the cupola show how many drogues it has been since sunrise. Those that are filled in with a white background are passed, and those that are still empty are yet to come. Once a drogue a ball falls from the top, making the dragons spin, and a cymbal clash

How it works

In the centre of the fox is a large tank of water. Inside that is a small pot with a hole in. This hole is precisely sized so that it takes one drogue for the pot to sink to the bottom. There are two strings attached to the pot. When it reaches the bottom one if these is pulled taught enough to release the ball at the top of the cupola. This falls down, and in doing so the dragons spin which pulls on the second string and the pot is brought to the surface again. Where the pot starts to sink, starting the process over again.
