Completing the Night Profane ritual, Sendaris attempts to begin a perpetual night, casting the sun out of the sky. This is foiled by Quetzuma, followed by the faithful of his menagerie. In the process, Axolotl is fatally bitten by Sendaris. Ubtao sacrifices Axolotl to become the sun. Upset by the betrayal of his menagerie and the corruption of the Zultican people, Quetzuma departs the jungle forever.
Sendaris complete's the Night Profane ritual, granting her unimaginable power. Ubtao, realizes that Sendari must be stopped, and summons his menagerie to aid him, but few answer his call. In the battle, Sendaris wraps her body around Ubtao and begins constricting him. Axolotl saves Quetzuma, but in the process is bitten in the wing, receiving an injection of poison. Ubtao is able to overcome Sendaris eventually, but not before the serpent brings down the sun. Quetzuma tries to suck out the poison out of the eagle's wound, but Axolotl begins fading. Ubtao decides to sacrifice Axolotl so he could become the next sun, cutting himself and mixing his blood with Axolotl's as part of the ritual for the magic. This is where several Zultican's version of events begin to differ. Some believe that the act of restoring the sun was so taxing on Ubtao that he also died in order to fulfill the rebirth of the sun. The predominant belief, though, is that Ubtao, disappointed with the continued betrayal and corruption of the people, ascended to the heavens, leaving the empires of the Triple Alliance to squabble amongst themselves.
