Quetzuma Discovers The Scroll of Beginnings

Quetzuma discovers the Scroll of Beginnings, granting him godlike powers.

Ubtao, the leader of the Azulca tribe, requests to be married to the daughter of the overlord Tenochzuma, and to create a city for his tribe. Tenochzuma, the leader of the Nahopaca, is a cruel but cunning man and agrees to the arrangement on one condition. The agreement is that Ubtao must enter the Peaks of Flame, alone, and come out with a dragon's egg, a monumental task verging on utter suicide.   And, to add insult to injury, Tenochzuma orders Ubtao to begin his journey on the 13th of the Rain Month, which was considered to be an ill-fortuned day of the calendar.   Despite all this, Ubtao agrees and heads to the volcano. Braving many obstacles, he makes his way to the dragon's hoard to steal his prize, but instead comes across the Scroll of Beginnings. Struck by the object, Ubtao reads it. Doing so unleashes a monumental transformation in Ubtao, granting him godly powers and mastery over magic, and a vision pertaining to the future establishment of his city. Using his newfound power, Ubtao is able to steal the dragon's egg and return back to Tenochzuma.
