Mace has spent many years in the serives of the Kingdom of Geldheim unitl he retired from combat to live the life of a farmer at age 40 in the year of 1247. During his time in service his honour, courage and loyalty was without question and trained many a Geldheim soldier in the tenants of honourable combat. He never sought fame, title or recognition and was content to mentor the rising talent of Geldheim.
His retirement was a peaceful one, living off the land far away from the brutality of war. He first began thinking of coming out of retirement when news came to him about the death of King Allard Strongback reasoning perhaps it was his duty to return to the Kingdom of Geldheim ranks in their hour of need. After pondering for many months he encountered the Order of St Allard. Further inspired by their yenants his decision was made. So impressed was the Grand Master with Mace, that quickly was promoted to 2IC though it should be said, he took some convincing
