Ostenwold Duchy

The Province of Ostenwold was the first real beach head after the mighty Dunborugh river was crossed during the first crusade.It was here that the ruins they found all over the land had changed,until this time most ruins were of small human settlements,now  evidence of Dwarf and elf architecture at a grand scale were found all of them a combination of Dwarf and elf architecture.
The scrolls of Isiv talked about the center of the empire and how all the races worked together. It was clear to all that the fabled lost capitol was getting closer to being found. Now that the possibility of discovering Eldoria, it was deemed a priority to push along this front agasint the Uruk hordes .
The push of the second and final crusade would then begin.
The Uruk had gathered in massive numbers in the nearby hills.They were joined by Dragons of Tanacril. The Red dragon , Kiardreth flame tooth, a blue ,Juelithical the one eyed and Ckriss-zathik a Green scaled one all mounted by Giant warriors.These would make them a force that could change the tide of the war.

The two armies met in the open plains later called the fields of glory. The Uruk were defeated only by the luck of additional forces from the Marshlands as an army of Sis'swa (lizard folk) with Fen(halflings) allies showed up as the dwarven brotherhood of Khazadur made a timely entrance as-well.
The Uruk were turned away in retreat to the Cadan hills tracking them down into the western amber woods where a second confrontation would end any chance of a Uruk force south of the Arkanshan.This battle was called the Three giants as this is the place where the three dragons fled the battle.
Ostenwold at that time was named after the General of the armies, Lord Ostenwold. He found ruins in the current location of the town named after him. Here he fortified and started to run campaigns to push the Uruk out of these lands. His knights proved time and again their value as the horde had very little in the way of defense agasint them.This would go on for 12 years before more of the lands were secured all the way up to the Arkanshan river and onto Whitham along the coast of Junction Lake.
The Cadan hills, a wealth of ancient sights.Ruins of old towns and forts dot the borderlands but here in the hills there is evidence of much more, foundation stones so old and massive suggest this to be a site of ancient lineage. Silver mines have been discovered and the current Duke,Lord Trell has opened them up for service.Around 10 years ago , Wyverns have been spotted in the area, this has caused a rerouting of Caravan routes coming from Helkirk. where once you could travel along the hills to Ostenwold now you must travel a days journey south to Fort Kiri, it is now to dangerous as the flying menace are in numbers and the people fear the wyverns are getting bolder.

Fort kirlington is a Dwarven fort that no dwarf will willingly enter. They all say that the stones are no good and dont feel right. Some dwarves have tried to stay the night but are filled with unmemorable dreams and flee in terror. When the uruk were here they to stayed clear and never used it as a fort. As it goes now, it is defended with local soldiers supported by Duke Trell.
Knutford is called a village but more like a town , it supports a great deal of industry and is a thriving trade stop to Khazadur.The local Baron is in good standing with the Dwarves of the mountain and has many of their goods for sale here.
Uther crossroads, started off as a wooden fort during the second crusade then became a hospital, then roadside tavern about 55 years ago. Uther, a retired Derg Dwarf from the Brotherhood moved in and has fortified the place and made it a stopover for those going or coming from ostenwold.
The main industry of Ostenwold is its trade with the Khazadur and the Fens.Also the defense of the supply line from Eldoria. The Trell family have been titled to Ostenwold for 150 years and have a good reputation with the other nobles of the border council.
Tension with locals agasint Haildonia to the north have risen since the last duke died and his son blames Lord trell.
