“I swear, on the spirits themselves, the Nero of Pani Puri are the best at folktales and fairytales. If I was a child, I would have preferred Kasa Ej, Kikhu Sen or Araha & the King no matter how strange they are”— Anolf Oshtafan
Araha & the King is the name of a folk tale first published in
Djo Dase's
Stories of Histories. It is vaguely disguised political commentary of
Drana Punomo's ill fated rondezvous with
Hizi Pas spy
Sej Utsi. However, it is another story using
King Hafa
The Myth
In the 'fore times where spirits and mythical heroes, there was still humans and petty emotions like desire and love. King Hafa grew bored of his pristine kingdom and
Safo knew it.
From clay, he created a girl so beautiful and breathed life into her yet she still bore the traces of death. He sent her up from the subterranian kingdom to the realm of King Hafa. Immediately, he fell in love with her and spent hours with her, abadoning his wife and concubines. And that's when he began slipping information he'd gotten from the spirits to Savo.
