Tanyúzlem's Cup

A cup made of gold given to Tanyúzlem as he fled the city of the enemy, riding home east to the city of his birth. He filled it with wine and it never ran empty. It stayed in the holy city for centuries upon centuries, surviving the onslaughts, like the Nepranashla. It stands upon the altar of the Chrgshin Gechshína, where pilgrims are blessed by the priest and given a sip of the honey wine.
Tanyúzlem's Cup is an artifact and holy relic, hosted in the holy city of Segzshín (not related to Chegshin by the sea). It was given to Tanyúzlem by an enemy prince through the command of God. Famously, this cup is eternally filled with wine as reward for his sufferings throughout his life (like his Betrayal).

The Blessing Ritual

Upon reaching Segzshín, pilgrims are invited to the altar of the Gechshína, where Tanyúzlem’s Cup is displayed. The priest performs a blessing ceremony, invoking the divine presence and protection. Pilgrims are then given a sip of the honey wine from the cup. This act is believed to confer blessings, healing, and spiritual renewal. The honey wine, symbolic of both sweetness and sustenance, reinforces the themes of divine care and eternal provision.

Cultural and Spiritual Impact

The legend and presence of Tanyúzlem’s Cup continue to inspire and fortify the faith of the Asfye community. It serves as a tangible link to their spiritual heritage and the miraculous events that shaped their beliefs. The cup’s eternal wine is a powerful reminder of the divine promise and the enduring legacy of Tanyúzlem’s devotion.
