The Tonkrin

The Tonkrin is a merchant vessel that carries luxury goods (silks, gold and precious jewels) from Pani Puri back to the Uganë Empire. Owned by Naolf Zilshirm, it also carries people on rare occasions such as by request of his mother, in the case of Anolf and his "friend" Rura Ero.
It has 7 crew members, all paid at the Zilshirm’s family expense. Naolf handpicked all of them, with the guidance of his mother, as this is his first proper business adventure. As are many sailors, they are not of the greatest social stock in comparison to him - many being only half-literate - but they are reliable and in his eyes that's enough.
The Tonkrin was built quickly and with few complications. Naolf could only get the money through loans and begging his close family for cash - especially his brother-in-law. He originally intended to buy a much larger vessel, but was turned down by the banks for being "too young and too untrustworthy". The Tonkrin is built nearly entirely of cheap wood for that very reason as well.

The Name

Naolf named the Tonkrin for his sister, @Tonkrin who he is very close to. In fact, naming it for her was one of her many wedding presents from him.
