Altos Von Croy is a somewhat famed explorer, traveling the world to make new discoveries that no man has ever dared to attempt. He leads his company on these dangerous voyages, and despite the hardships they remain faithful to the man.
One night during an exceptionally dangerous campaign he lead his men through a mountain canyon while an awful storm was raging, the company pleaded to turn back and set camp again, but Altos refused. It was a terrible mistake. An earthquake erupted and his entire company was killed, and himself gravely injured and disfigured. There is now a massive scar ranging from the bottom of his neck all the way to his scalp. Since then, Magpie has not returned to his headquarters where the rest of his company awaited him.
The disfigured man no longer wanted the fame he originally had, and now hides his face behind a mysterious bird-like mask he discovered during one of his expeditions. He started to take to a life of crime as a highwayman, robbing people, stealing, and so on, until he found a more lucrative business. The mysterious masked man now travels town to town, selling his mystery "cures" that are nothing more than snake oil, some are poisoned and some are not, but so far nobody has caught on to the man and his schemes.
Altos is the last surviving member of the Von Croy family.

A creepy traveling merchant of sorts, with a secret to hide. This masked figure thinks of himself as a traveling merchant of sorts, going town to town to sell his snake oil, sometimes with poison added in, as a bonus.
