Solomon Frey has acted as Senior Advisor to the Yuan-Ti Pureblood Queen for many years. They were close, and he loved her. For years, she had ruled over the western regions, across the sea. She was an extremely powerful sorceress and any who dare challenge her power were vanquished. The Centaurs of the region had grown tired of her reign, and started a resistance that grew into a full blown revolution, and eventually a war. The Centaurs stood no chance initially, and the sorceress Queen weaved a storm of pestilence to eliminate many people.
The Centaurs had a trick up their sleeve though, and had hired a secret organization that deals with monsters and tyrants alike. While she was distracted, these mercenaries had infiltrated the palace and were hunting her down. The hunters brought with them The Tranquil, a group of mages dedicated to suppressing magic and it's effects; just one tranquil mage was strong, let alone 10. This made it so the queen was not able to use her powerful magic.
The Yuan Ti palace guards had managed to hold them off in the throne room long enough for Solomon and the Queen to retreat back to the castle treasury. Here they would make their final stand, Solomon dies in a brutal fight, defending the Queen. Hours go by, the Queen lay dead, Solomon dead as well. They take the queens body and attempt to burn it, to no avail, she does not burn. So they lock her up and imprison her body in a heavily armored vault.
Just as the Tranquil left, Solomon saw a vision of the Queens spirit, he just thought it's the afterlife, but the Queen speaks to him, telling him that "She must be avenged, and she must be resurrected, that he had failed her once, he shall not again. All the condemned and their children will pay, and there will be a throne built of their blood and bones." And with that she gave the power of her spirit to Solomon. He is now being kept alive through Blood Magic. In exchange for her power, he unwillingly gave up most of his soul.
Now blinded by love and loyalty, he will go to any level to bring his Queen back, so that his kind can come out of hiding and reunite the Yuan-Ti kingdom. To do this he must free the body of his dead Queen from The Blades of the Black Stag, and bring her back to the location of her death. Where he will conduct a ritual to resurrect her.

A rather quiet, mysterious, secretive man, Solomon Frey does not consider himself a good person by any means. However, if one looks close enough, they might catch a faint glimpse that this mysterious Warlock still has good left in their heart.
