Eilistraee, Goddess of Beauty, Song, and Dance

Eilistraee is the Drow goddess of Beauty, Song, Dance, Freedom, Moonlight, Sword-work, and Hunting. She was the patroness and protector of the few dark elves who longed to return to the surface and live there, at peace with other races, and to abandon the endless conflicts and intrigues that dominated the lives of most Drow.   After the descent of the Drow, Eilistraee tried to be a mother goddess to her people and bring them the hope of a new life. She fought to lead them back to the lands of light, helping them to flourish and prosper in harmony with other races, free from Lolth's tyranny and the conflicts that dominated their lives. Hers was an uphill battle, however, as her power was little and she was opposed by all the gods of the New Age. But, despite having to overcome many hardships and setbacks, Eilistraee never gave up fighting for her people.   After many many decades of fighting, Eilistraee had finally mustered enough strength to face the Gods who defied her. Despite the wrong doing of her people in the past, she still believed that they were worth redemption, and so she faced off against Eldath and her angels. Surprised by her courage and her fortuitous heart, Eldath called off her agressors, and let Eilistraee achieve her goal. Thus the Drow were liberated, and she rose to godhood with the blessings of Eldath.   She now rests among the stars, forever looking down upon her people with a warm smile. Some say if you look up to the moon during the night, you can see the faint outline of a beautiful Drow dancing.   As an avatar, Eilistraee appeared as a Drow female of glowing beauty. She was tall and lithe, with graceful, strong limbs and a glossy, obsidian-dark skin. She usually appeared unclad, cloaked only by her ankle-length hair that shone with a bright silvery hue, and by motes of moonlight that were ever-dancing about her body.   Moral Alignment: Chaotic Good
