Hafrafell

Hafrafell is home to the infamous savage clan known as 'Clan Helvig'. It's a small community of no more than 15,000 inhabitants, but don't let the numbers fool you, for over 90% of these people are thoroughbred warriors, and they would gladly take up arms for their Jarl, no matter the cause.
Hafrafell is one of the most secure fort cities in the entire world, decades of building and fortification paid off, Hafrafell is easily able to repel any invasion. This feat of course would not have been possible without the giants that they enslaved during the War for Jüngaardt 300 years ago, where the original 4,000 warriors of the clan fought against hordes and hordes of giants.
After five years, the clan had prevailed over the mighty creatures, only suffering 66 casualties over the 5 year war. After their great victory, they hunted down the last of the giants and enslaved them, forcing them to help rebuild the city they wrecked havoc upon originally.
At first, the giants did nothing more than make repairs and help build new defenses for the city, but a new idea had begun to surface among the clan. Warrior Giants. The giants were unruly at first, attempting escape multiple times, attacking the handlers, one giant had even attempted to kill himself but ultimately failed. In time, they had fully broken the creatures, and the giants bent to every wish and command uttered by the Vikings. Chainmail armor was built for these mammoths, over 15 yards of material, weighing at 200 pounds. They were armed with incredible axes and clubs that could completely eviscerate a whole man. They were equipped with saddles and reigns, and the madmen would ride these giants into battle. A terrifying image.
The clan has been breeding the giants for years, and every year the population increases. Currently in this era, they hold over 250 giants in their army.
