Gaping Plains

One of the few unique locations in the southern Prairies is the Gaping Plains. Named for the hundreds of open holes found in the region, the Gaping Plains are home to nothing save the plants and insects that survive off the water that collects in the shallowest of pools. Nearly every grasslander has passed near the location but only those with an important reason bother venturing further than the outskirts. The pools can prove dangerous and without sufficent motivation not even the most bored or impatient grasslander would choose to travel through the region rather than circle around.

This vast and terrifying section of the prairies is located in the south west region of Allegri and is a dangerous region filled with pools of fresh water of fluctuating sizes and depths. Most Uklidnit tribe clans make regular tours of the area to collect water and harvest the various plants that grow in this uncharacteristically wet region of an otherwise nearly desert-like region.

Slaviari

Hundreds of years ago, the Gaping Plains was home to a very special monument that would supposedly help point travelers towards a secret safe-haven - a hidden village rumoured to be on the eastern edge of the prairies that borders the Gaping Plains and the swampy fens that divide the inland from the coast.

Since the disappearance of the hidden village, the details of how to locate the monument have lost their usefulness and have also been lost to legend. Those who've heard stories of the monument recall that certain holes deep inside the Gaping plains would lead to the mysterious building which would then, theorhetically, guide the way to the hidden village.
