Calatria
Bryntesu gazed at the thriving city. Just a few mere centuries ago, this place was nothing more than twelve or so desolate islands in the middle of a storm. Now it was a bustling hub of exploration and trade.Calatria is the Aquitzal Capital, located in the center of the Kosamic Sea. Protected by fierce storm for the majority of a year, it is a hard place to visit unless you go there by train. The city is built around a small archipelago, with buildings being built into the sides of each island. The architecture often involves pillars, curved walls, and lots of windows.
Storm-weathered cliffs now decorated by sculptures and lights, bare, rocky seafloor now paved with cobble. It had come a long way.
Here's to hoping that it will still stand after what's to come.
It is an incredibly beautiful place to visit, and they are currently trying to make the city more visitor-freindly by adding more air-filled areas.
Government
The city has an elected council to keep the city in check, switching out members every 5 years.
Defences
The city is protected with magical shields, which are installed in the outermost islands. Aside from the shields, most of the time The Crowned Storm is swirling overhead, keeping intruders away.
Industry & Trade
The residents of Calatria are hunters and traders, willing to bargain and sell their wares to visitors in the city.
Guilds and Factions
There are two guilds in the city, the Hunter's Guild and the Merchant's Guild. As well as keeping track of the city's resources, they also serve as the two main 'Political' parties.
Geography
The city is build around 12 major islands, all of them covered with forests of oak and maple. These islands have little to no buildings on their surface, due to most residents being able to live in the underwater houses.
