The fall of the city as well as the hopes of the gods

Disaster / Destruction

With the word of the gods out, things start to rip apart at the seams. An eerie prophecy, rumors of a powerful shadow out for blood and revenge, and the reappearance of powerful monsters is all but a few of the things slithering in the darkness.

With the secret of the valley gods revealed, unrest spread across the mountain villages. How could they be calm if their leaders could destroy anything they wanted in an instant?
The five gods, renamed to the Primordials, called a meeting amongst the villages to combat the worry and distrust. At the meeting, the Primordials were approached by a weary traveler, asking for a boon. The gods agreed, and asked the traveler what they wanted, to which the traveler whipped out his hand with a spell primed and ready.
"I want your immortality."
The spell ripped the magics known as the "forbidden magics" from the gods, draining them of their magic like a vampire and it's prey.
The traveler, now overflowing with magical energy, started to destroy the town and everything in sight. By the end of the night, the town was in flames and it's residents had fled far into the mountians.

A few years later the Primordials had recovered and joined forces with the mortal king Ixion to take down the traveler (who was now calling themselves 'the forbidden') and waged a twelve-year war against the shadow beats and their leader. After a long final battle, the Kathririans won. At the end of the war, Dawn received a prophecy.

"Darkness. Chaos.
The scales must be balanced. For if they are not, disaster will fall.
The revenge of the gods will reign free, brought forth by the heroes.
Blades crossed, sparks flying, peace will be at last."
Upon hearing this prophecy, the Primordials sealed the forbidden's power away in five artefacts which were hidden in the ruins of the valley.
If that evil were to ever break free again, the prophecy would be able to strike it down.

Or so they thought.
