Noorzata Park (noor-ZAT-uh)

The largest and most famous park in Shalanera, Noorzata Park is located near the capitol and the bay. It was named after a queen consort a few hundred years ago, and has been a landmark of the capital ever since.   Lake Bennai is located near the north edge of the park, and is a popular destination for swimming, fishing, and boating in the summer. Tourists often rent fanciful boats to paddle around. A boardwalk runs along the east side of the lake. During the warmer months there are stands selling food and souvenirs along the boardwalk, and the space is also sometimes used for art installations.   The park boasts a sunken amphitheater for outdoor performances, and the emperor or empress will sometimes deliver a speech there.   A playground for children is in the south-east corner of the park.   Much of the park is open green space, ideal for picnics, letting pet warcallies off leash, or simply enjoying the outdoors.
