Mountain Goat

Mountain Goats

Mountain goats are found throughout the many mountain ranges, and rocky foothills in the regions of The Northern Wastes, and Northern Pelosia. Their thick fur and layers of body fat protecting them from the extreme cold. They are expert climbers, able to leap and bound up sheer slopes.   Mountain goats are territorial but easily placated with offerings of food. Their stubbornness makes them difficult to domesticate. Basic Information

Anatomy

Beast, Mountain Goat: Goats can have a wide variety of appearances, but all have fur, horizontal slit-shaped pupils, cloven hooves, and four-chambered stomachs that allow them to eat and digest a vast variety of food. Many have at least two horns of varying shapes, as well as beards on their chins. The mountain goat has an extra layer of fat and much thicker fur than most.

Ecology and Habitats

Varying adaptations in many goat breeds allow them to inhabit almost any environment. In the wild, herds of goats prefer edible grasses and roots in fields and plains. However, some goat breeds are especially well-adapted to mountains and cliffs, scaling steep inclines for sparse fibers and minerals.
