Kamiyoki

A human who was born bound to a kami who uses the human as a shrine they inhabit. Kamiyoki and their kami accomplish tasks in and out of combat by working together. The kamiyoki is a highly versatile race, with its abilities being applicable to almost any class. Thematically they fit well with religious related classes like cleric or paladin though.
Kamiyoki comprise a small hermit community in Hokkaido at Iwagata Shrine, where they train together. Kamiyoki number just a few dozen at most, with their kami being passed down to their descendants, skipping generations until the previous host of the kami passes away allowing it to proceed to the next born of that bloodline. Kamiyoki society is austere and very serious about their religion.

Kami's Avatar - As an action you can summon a spiritual avatar of you kami up to 60 feet from you that shares your stats, senses, and pool of actions, abilities, and health.

Out of combat your kami is able to assist you similar to an unseen servant that you control, but is more powerful and sentient.

In combat you are able to use your kami to act in your stead. If the kami uses up action resources, you are no longer able to use those resources yourself, and if the kami takes damage, you also take that damage as well. The only thing not shared between you and your kami is movement.

Your kami cannot go more than 60 feet from you

Any area of effect damage that hits both you and your kami will only be recived by one.

Your kami is able to speak and share their knowledge, opinions, and experiences with you either in their avatar form or from inside your mind.

Your kami can be dispelled at will but requires another action to resummon

Spells affecting one of you will affect both of you, like fly or invisibility.

Holy Protection - You have resistance to radiant damage
Severed from Dreams - Instead of sleep, Kamiyoki will meditate in a state of semiconsciousness with their Kami for 4 hour hours to gain a long rest
Special Feat: Divine Host - Kamiyoki

The Kamiyoki is indistinguishable from a normal person, but their kami will appear as a glowing spirit levitating slightly off the ground. Their appearance will likely resemble the type of warrior their host is, wearing armor if martial, or wearing robes if a caster for example.
