Government

France is a Parliamentary republic. Unlike many other European powers, it doesnt having a symbolic monarch.

History

After an infamously bloody revolution to overthrow its monarchy, France became a fearsome scourge of Europe. Its armies and generals were the finest in the world and became the hallmark for what a military should be. That is until the rise of Germany, which challenged this title. Instead of its historical rival of Britain, France instead found a new rival. These simmering feuds erupted in the Great War, which left France badly wounded despite having won. Compared to the rising Nazi Germany, its not so obvious that France's teeth are as sharp as they used to be.

Foreign Policy

After suffering greatly during the Great War, France seeks peace and the maintenance of the status quo of its empire. Its wary of the militarization of its neighbor the Nazi Germany.

Economy

While France's economy isn't quite as large as Britain's or Germany's, its is far from small or insubstantial. It has many colonies, and a strong industrial base with competitive technology.

Culture

France is famous for its penchant for rebellious attitudes against authority, born from its revolutionary past. It is also known for its romantic cities, world class food, and fine wine.
