Shakai Taishuto - Labor
The Shakai Taishuto was founded in 1932 by Abe Isoo by merging previous left leaning labor parties. Politically sitting between the liberal Minseito, and the outlawed Communist party, the Shakai Taishuto represents the furthest left leaning party that is still legal within Japan.
Political Stances
Industrialization
Industrialization is inevitable, and can be a great thing if it is done for the sake of the people, and not a select group of elites. Technology and urbanization should be championed, but the worker should be championed along with it.Foreign Policy
The Shakai Taishuto is more skeptical of the militarism of outward looking policies of the other parties. It is not so much the wars and imperialism themselves they find fault with so much as the fact that it is the commoners fighting on behalf of the establishment but not reaping any of the benefits.Social Issues
Cultural Purity is not one of the core focuses of the Shakai Taishuto. They will tow the line on the basic tenants however. This include the need for a stringent citizenship process, as well as upholding a general perspective of Japanese cultural values.Legal System
Like the Seiyukai - Conservative, the Shakai Taishuto supports a robust and powerful law enforcement arm to maintain order. However they do believe labor strikes and other kinds of worker protests should be legalized.Economic System
The Shakai Taishuto champions an economic model where labor unions are mandatory and empowered to bargain on behalf of the workers for better conditions and wages from businesses. They don't necessarily have a problem with nationalized businesses, or Zaibatsus, so long as the unions have significant power in the relationship.Political System
The Shakai Taishuto is a proponent of the modernizations of the Meiji Restoration, and even believe its institutions should be made even stronger, specifically the Imperial Diet, so that the common person can have a greater voice in government. They want the government to have more accountability to the workers, and less to the Zaibatsus and The Kazoku.Immigration and International Trade
The Shakai Taishuto are in favor of very stringent immigration and international trade. Rather than cultural reasons, they believe high immigration and imports hurt domestic workers, who should always be favored over foreign workers and goods, even if it is done so by law. Why should new people be brought in when many current Japanese are suffering unemployment and low wages already? That is the question they ask.Religious Law
While religious purity is not the top priority of the Shakai Taishuto, they do however up hold Japanese religion and doctrine, and believe @shint should be the state religion.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
