Ruins of Anoch Sun
History
Like everything built in Velaka, Anoch Sun was a testament to a people's will overcome the elements.
Built near a natural oasis, Anoch Sun's builders, now lost to the annals of time, trekked huge quantities of sandstone and red rocks from the Gemfire Mountains in order to build what they felt would be the greatest city in the world. And, considering how small their known world was, Anoch Sun was the greatest city in the world for a number of generations.
Anoch Sun was built to be the center of government for the scattered tribes of the Desert, who were seeking a place to gather and call home, at least on occasion. And it served this purpose for countless generations, until about 200 or so years ago.
The peoples of the Desert often summon extraplanar beings to be hunted for sport, and, on one fateful night, something went horribly wrong. Very few written accounts exist, and no one living now witnessed the event, so actual details remain suspect, but some facts of the destruction are known.
During a festival celebrating the (albeit brief) wet season, a Solar had been summoned from the Outer Planes, with the intention of hunting it and then ritualistically sacrificing it. Things did not go according to plan and, tho the details are vague in what few accounts remain, the city was destroyed in a great upheaval of sand and rock by a massive earthquake and then a subsequent raging inferno, serving as a funeral pyre for hundreds of people.

Tourism
Anoch Sun has been buried beneath the desert, with it's location unknown to the majority of the people of the desert. Outside of these tribes, it's existence, let alone it's location, are unknown. There is no tourism, tho it is said that a vast wealth of treasures and valuable tomes of knowledge lie lost beneath the sands, entombed for eternity away from the blazing sun.
